and then the guide states that "SPGS are terrible and should never be used" as well as that "medium SPGS are just garbage". I don't agree at all with the tank division design in this guide, and it's very contradictory.įirst the guide states that Support Artillery can be used since "Arty gives a little bit of soft and hard attack which is always good to have". If your opponent is foolish enough to make spacemarines then by all means simply throw in support AT on your infantry and pierce him to deathĮach level of AT 1,2 and 3 added as just a support company can pierce the equivalent level of heavy 1, 2 or 3 tank "spacemarine" divisions. We didn't include 14/4s or other infantry divisions with just support AT since that is never never enough to pierce proper 40 width medium or heavy tank divisions so just having support AT is never worth it so it's never used so it didn't get into the guide as a common div template. In such a situation even a few 14/4 infantry divisions can pack the punch required to push the enemy infantry out of the way so you don't lose all your tanks. If you just have 20 width raw infantry then they will still struggle to push through the French infantry or cavalry that has 2 line AT in it and your tanks will be getting pierced. An example of this is France doing it to counter the German tanks. 14/4s are really useful if the enemy is doing a hard AT strat with 2 or more line AT in their infantry.
YOGSCAST HOI4 MULTIPLAYER UPGRADE
Also, there is a certain point where having more tanks wont help since they will eat up supply and you wont be able to micro them all so it's a good idea to upgrade your infantry, however, this is generally not until the late game.

This is generally good advice for all nations. A level 3 support AT in a 14/4 superior firepower infantry division gives you 59.7 piercing which is more than enough to pierce the "space marine" division.Īlso that is why I stated in the Germany part that I only put more mils onto infantry and arty after I run out of oil and rubber for tanks and planes. That division only has 42.9 armor if it is a Heavy 3 TD. The most common space marine div is a 13/4 with a single Heavy Tank Destroyer in it making it 40 combat width. Though I will make sure that a picture does get added for clarity. Anyone can go into the game and look at the piercing values of basic inf divs with support AT compared to a spacemarine div. Click to expand. Not showing you a picture of an infantry template with support AT in it does not contradict the fact that "spacemarines" are bad divisions which are easily countered by support AT.
